Should you have more than one blog? I toyed with this question quite a bit when I was trying to figure out my life. I knew I wanted to write and what I wanted to write about; I just didn’t know how to fit it together. I wanted to blog about graphic design, business, and marketing but I also wanted to blog about beauty, healthy eating, and personal development. If you are having the same problem, the steps below will clear that uncertainty right up!
3 steps to figure out if you need more than one blog
Step 1: Make of a list of all the things you want to write about on your blog.
Sit down and brainstorm all of the topics that you want to blog about. Don’t hold back. Write down everything you want to write about. This list will also be helpful when you are trying to come up with post ideas. Thank me later.
Step 2: Divide your list into categories.
Look at your list. Do any categories emerge? Write those categories out at put each list item into one a category.
Step 3: Analyze your list of categories for a similarities
If there is a common theme between most, if not all, of the categories you want to blog about, you are in the money. You only need one blog. If there is more than one theme, then you may consider having two separate blogs. If the themes are connected, than one blog should suffice. But, if they are super different, and you are equally passionate about both, that you may need to choose one or create platforms for each theme separately.
After I finished looking at my list, I decided that one blog was best and now I am starting my journey with one blog that accompanies my business: Chayla Charlise.
I hope this helps you get everything figured out!
